My goodness, this is an exciting post to write! Abby, from Abby Maed has been a sweet quilt friend for several years and I'm so thrilled for her because she WROTE A BOOK!

Abby and I live across the country from each other, but we somehow seem to end up at the same quilt events quite often and thus, see each other way more often than you'd think for friends who live so far apart...what can I say? The quilting world is small! It's been so fun to hear about her progress on the book over the past few years!

Abby is an incredibly talented designer! Her aesthetic is soft and cozy in the best way and all of that comes through in her book! It's beautifully done and it's so evident that she's poured her heart into every page.
The book is divided by seasons, with 4 projects for each each season. There's a great variety of projects from bags, to quilts, to tree skirts suitable for every skill level. I'd recommend it to any quilter!
I was so delighted when she asked if I'd like to make a project from the book for this virtual book tour! I knew immediately I wanted to make this Signs of Spring Bunting.

For my version, I pulled from my solid scraps in some of my favorite bright, happy colors. The piecing came together quickly and efficiently. I went a little rogue and did different background colors for each type of flower, but it was easy to figure out what pieces I would need from Abby's detailed and well organized cutting instructions in the book.

The piecing went so quickly, I decided hand quilting was in order! I used some 8wt. perle cotton thread in various shades to help the flowers really pop and add that sweet touch that only hand quilting does!

I'm thrilled with how the project came together and I'm 100% ready for Spring now!
